Stainless Housings

FCT has been producing filter vessels for cartridges and bags since 1975, and in the past has supplied probably the the best known vessel company in the UK. Complete Filtration Solutions Limited now has the sole and exclusive rights to supply these units into the UK and Ireland. We are pleased to offer the genuine FCT filter vessel which gives you an assurance of quality, safety and reliability. FCT is the only  company believed to have developed, and perfected, the technology of deep stainless moulding, thus making pharmaceutical grade 24 inch long and shaped sumps completely free from welds and machined from disks.

All filters are calculated in accordance with ASME VIII DIV 1 and manufacture meets European Directive 97/23/CE PED and Directive 94/9/ CE ATEX

What makes the FCT housings superior?

What makes the FCT filter housings superior? This is a good question, and the answer is important to explain.

Strength

The strength of a filter housing is all important as its strength can mean the difference between safety and injury. The use of cast parts, heat treatment and careful finishing are all important but often unseen to the naked eye. For housings that use "band clamps" which are quick and easy to use, the flared edge of the housing should be hardened or cast to endure its shape remains constant under all design pressures. You would be amazed how many well known companies do not undertake this important practice, but with FCT you can rest assured. Tube sheets into which the cartridges fit, are welded from both sides not just one, meaning there is less chance of failure, corrosion or contamination collection.

The other important factor is the thickness of the stainless steel used in manufacture. Selection of housings with a low cost means the quality of steel may not be as desired, and the thickness often very thin. The selection of an FCT housing assures both the right grade of stainless steel and the correct thickness of material selected.

Security

Filter housings use cups or adapters in the tube sheet. Most well known manufacturers rely on an "interference fit" which means the cup is simply pushed in. This practice means capillary action can allow fluid to pass from the upstream to the downstream side of the filter vessel without passing through the filter cartridges. Any slight passage also makes integrity testing potentially difficult and corrosion can result via electrolytic action in some circumstances.

The FCT vessels avoid all these problems. All fittings are fully welded in place and there is no reliance on push fit units in the tube sheet.

A high quality precision engineered filter vessel available to take DOE (double open ended filters. Available in 10 inch, 20 inch and 30 inch units. The head is precision cast 304 stainless steel. The sump is  316L stainless steel. This is a cost effective unit but rated to 16 bar design pressure @ 80 deg C

Design:   Pressure 16 bar

Design:   Temperature 80 deg C

Drain :     3/8 BSPF

Vent:       1/8 BSPF with pin valve

Standard Gasket Buna N (other options available)

"S" Series 25 bar housing

This is the 316L stainless steel option available in 10 inch, 20 inch and 30 inch versions. Inlet and outlet are 1 inch BSPF. Available to take DOE (double open ended) filters, Code 3 (twin 222 /  flat) and code 7 cartridges (twin 226 / fin)

Design:   Pressure 25 bar

Design:   Temperature 80 deg C

Drain :     3/8 BSPF

Multi Cartridge "R" style housing range. 3 - 29 cartridges
Image 1

This unit is the "workhorse" of industry, the housing design most imitated.  The genuine FCT filter housing here must be the choice for all serious water treatment, food and general chemical companies. Available in standard form to take cartridges in DOE (double open ended), code 8 (twin 222 / fin) and code 7 (twin 226 / fin). Cartridge number available from 3 cartridges up to 29 cartridges and larger by design. All aspects are welded, heat treatment where required and every housing made with love and care. Housings up to 8 cartridge (round) are rated at 10 bar as standard above that size 6 Bar. Available in 316L and 304 stainless steel.

Other housings may look similar to the FCT housing.  Many have attempted to copy it but non, in our opinion, have matched the attention to detail, the full and double sided welding of the tube sheet and fittings and the added security dedicated to the rim and sealing arrangement. Let us quote you for the genuine article, I am sure you will agree this is the best option.

Multi Cartridge "D" series Housing 3 - 29 cartridges

This unit is another "workhorse" of industry, but for those who prefer all fluid to drain totally from the base of the housing. This unit is used by many serious water treatment, food and general chemical companies.

Multi cartridge "P" series Housing 3 - 29 cartridge all 10.5 bar rated
Image 1

This series of filter housings is available as with the others in 304 and 316L stainless steel and to take cartridge from 3 in number to 29 in number. What makes this range different is that all including the larger housings are rated at 10.5 bar @ 121 deg C. This is believed a higher pressure rating and higher temperature rating than that of possibly the best known UK vessel company's offering. The lid is fitted by clamps for maximum security and the legs are fully adjustable. Again, cost effective and love and care given to every detail. Available to accept, DOE fiting cartridges (double open ended), Code 8 (twin 222 / fin) and code 7 (twin 226 / fin).
